About Oyama Siyabulela Canca

Born on June 23, 1992, in Mthatha, Eastern Cape, South Africa, Oyama Siyabulela Canca was raised by his parents, Don Oyama Canca and Keely Mtshizana-Canca. His family later relocated to East London, where Oyama began his high school journey. It was during this time that he developed a deep passion for music, inspired by his family’s collection of records, cassettes, and CDs. This love for music led him to explore music production using digital audio workstations like eJay and FL Studio.

After completing high school, Oyama pursued his passion for music by studying Sound Engineering at the Academy of Sound Engineering (ASE) in Johannesburg, South Africa. He earned a Diploma in Music Recording Technology, and he is currently enrolled at Berklee Online – Berklee College of Music, working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production.

In 2012, after graduating from ASE, Oyama founded Meek Storm, a Christian record label owned by D.O.C Trust, a Christian family trust of which Oyama is the trustee. In addition to his work in the music industry, he is currently enrolled at the University of South Africa (UNISA), where he is working towards a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree.

On November 3, 2023, during a local revival, Oyama felt the call of God on his life. In response, he founded and now oversees Kingdom Ministries, a Christian ministry dedicated to the proclamation of the risen Lord Jesus Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom. Oyama is also enrolled at Faith Global Institute, working towards a Degree in Divinity, further deepening his commitment to the mission of Kingdom Ministries.

Oyama’s life is deeply rooted in his unwavering commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom. With a heart fully devoted to spreading the message of salvation, Oyama dedicates his life to the service of God, using his gifts in music, ministry, and leadership to impact lives and bring others into the knowledge of the truth. 

Through Kingdom Ministries, he actively seeks to empower believers to live out their faith, fulfill their God-given purpose, and become instruments of transformation in their communities. Guided by the Holy Spirit and driven by a passion for seeing God’s Kingdom flourish, Oyama remains steadfast in his mission to proclaim the risen Lord and lead others to experience the life-changing power of the gospel. 

His devotion to Jesus Christ shapes every aspect of his life, and he continues to serve with a heart of humility and a deep desire to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
